A Minty Koto Katana In Gunto Mounts
This is a minty WWII imperial Japanese army mounted koto katana. The blade cutting edge is 27 3/4" long and is in full war time polish. The sword is signed and I can only see one kanji character (Tane). The swords surrender tag with the owners name and address is still attached to the handle. The mounts are excellent with only a few chips in the lacquer saya. The saya looks to have bee covered with same then lacquered. This might have been done for strength and rigidity? Priced to sell this one should move fast!
