A beautiful Large Studio Porcelain Covered Baluster Vase by Makuzu Kozan
This Makuzu Kozan is a wonderful orange with mon around the top rim. The vase is signed Makuzu Kozan on the bottom and is also signed Makuzu Kozan on the lid. There is also writing on the side but in Katakana that roughly translates a gift for John S. Bradstreet. John S. Bradstreet was one of one of Minnesota’s premier interior designers and one of the prominent people in the arts and Crafts as well as the later Art Nouveau movements. It stands 13 1/4" high and is 5 1/4" wide. I am certain I have seen a picture of this vase in 19th century photo of one of his world exhibition.
